Join us July 20^th-24^th for GPA – Gas Chromatography School at UT Arlington in Arlington, TX.
GPA Midstream’s School of Gas Chromatography has proven to be one of the best available worldwide, directed by GPA Midstream’s Analysis, Test Methods & Products Specifications Committee.

The school covers basic gas and gas-liquid chromatography with an introduction to extended analysis. This is a hands-on school directed toward chromatograph operators, measurement technicians and engineers involved with chromatography. The school will consist of a combination of lectures, demonstrations and chromatograph operation. Lectures will be minimal, approximately one to two hours per day, and emphasis is placed on machine demonstration and operation. Both natural gas and natural gas liquid samples will be analyzed.

The Appalachian Gas Measurement Short Course (AGMSC) will be on August 3^rd-6^th at the Robert Morris University, located in Moon Township, PA.
AGMSC is an annual conference providing an opportunity for anyone associated with Gas Measurement to learn from industry vendors through exhibits and in lectures and hands-on classes. Whether you are new to the industry or have many years of experience, the AGMSC offers classes that add to the knowledge of technicians, engineers, supervisors, field support workers, government regulators, accountants, marketers, vendors and many others.

The Rocky Mountain Measurement Society (RMMS) trade show will be held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton from Wednesday, August 19th, to Thursday, August 20th, 2026.

About the Session
This paper will discuss gas sampling system design fundamentals and highlight key aspects of current industry standards. It will also explore the challenges associated with sampling gas from unconventional sources such as shale formations, deep-water offshore wells and enhanced recovery systems. Proper sampling of natural gas from unconventional sources usually requires equipment and techniques that are more sophisticated than those that have performed well for conventional gas sources. Methods for the continuous sampling of natural gas that is wet, at high pressure or even supercritical will be presented. The primary focus of this paper is on minimizing the error associated with sampling for compositional analysis. Sampling considerations associated with the measurement of single components will however also be discussed.
